This press release was for The Arts Assembly Exhibition at the Custard Factory in Birmingham 6th-8th March. If you would like any further information please contact us via our contact form found in the main menu and address it to Sophie Corke press.

The Arts Assembly was founded in 2008 by Stratford Upon Avon based artist Andrew Christopher, who put an advert in local papers calling for interested artists to join him and set up their own exhibitions. Following on from their success at their first exhibition in Warwick at AE Contemporary Art where they sold several pieces during a packed opening night, the group are now giving people in Birmingham the chance to come and see what they do and find out more about the ethos behind Arts Assembly.

Andrew says, "As an artist you find yourself desperate for gallery attention. You believe that gallery support is the key ingredient missing from a successful and lucrative career in the arts. I set up the 'Arts Assembly' to help artists who are proud of what they make, and to enable them to get their work seen by as many people as possible. I want artists to take back control and prove that good work is good work regardless of where it is hung."

The exhibition, 'So you want to be an artist?' will feature 18 Warwickshire based artists work including pottery, paintings, jewellery and ceramics. The 'Arts Assembly' is a non profit making organisation run and funded by artists, where all money made through the sale of art work goes directly to the artist concerned.

Preview night is Friday 6th March from 6pm to 9pm. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
